The antitrust committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (the "Committee") represents a unique instrument for the exchange of views, analysis and expertise in the field of antitrust law and practice.
A primary function of the Committee is to bring together international antitrust practitioners and experts to facilitate closer professional relationships and the creation of synergies.
The Committee's activity benefits from the participation of government officials, judges, attorneys, legal scholars and members of the private sector, providing their expertise, knowledge and personals suggestions on how to improve antitrust laws and regulations.
Through publications, programs, and online resources, the Committee offers a range of services including analysis of legal and policy issues and other studies and activities aiming at improving antitrust learning and jurisprudence.
As for the internal organization, the Committee forms general, regional and/or industry-based working groups (the "Working Groups") to study major international competition policy issues and to submit comments, analysis and reports to national regulators and international organizations on possible reforms.
By joining one of the Working Groups, members benefit from the possibility to be able to communicate with colleagues across the world practicing in the same field/industry. The Working Groups produce both regular and special publications for their members through printed newsletters, journals, magazines or e-bulletins.
Specialist conferences and events are organized by both the Committee and the Working Groups throughout the year, where members can deepen their knowledge of antitrust law and practice, discuss the latest issues within their field and/or their industry, as well as extend their network of international contacts.
