Maritime Law

The Maritime Law Committee programme in Seoul is intended to provide something which will interest everyone - whether or not involved in practice as a maritime lawyer.

The committee's programme for the afternoon of 3 May 2004 will feature presentations by a number of speakers from different jurisdictions dealing with the topic of "Anti Terrorist Control Measures at Harbours." This session will have the advantage of keeping members up to date with the happenings of great significance in the various jurisdictions.

On the morning of 5 May 2004, the committee will be joining the Insurance Committee for the presentation of a session dealing with a containership scenario - entitled "Missing Pusan Containership". This session involves a number of speakers from different jurisdiction and fields. The scenario is based on a major marine accident with implications for ship owners, cargo owners, insurers and the crews, and should provide a stimulating forum for all to learn more about these difficult issues.
