Employment & Immigration Law
In this global economy where companies transact business across international borders and employ multi-national workforces, employment and immigration issues have become more complex and compelling. Regardless of one's area of specialization, one is bound to confront employment and immigration issues: for example, a transactional lawyer advising a client on doing business in a foreign country or an environmental lawyer hired to develop a major construction project overseas will be remiss not to counsel the client on employment law issues affecting its workforce. The Employment & Immigration Committee provides a forum for its members to learn about legal developments in various jurisdictions. At the IPBA's annual conferences, the Committee invites distinguished lawyers from across the globe to present on relevant, cutting-edge topics. The upcoming conference in Seoul will focus on the interplay between protecting employee privacy and safeguarding trade secrets, a topic that is especially pertinent in today's economy. With members from all over the world, the Committee also provides an avenue for members to network and exchange ideas. Joseph ChingE-mail: jecusa-visa@yahoo.com
